Commissioning and send off

Greetings. As I write this, we are leaving in 7 1/2 hours. Amazing!! The time has come and we are so excited. I truly hope that we can sleep tonight since we have to be at the airport at 5:00AM. On Wednesday we had our final get-together before we leave. Our team had a packing party. No, we didn't get together to pack all of our personal belongings together. Instead, we joined to pack all of the things that we are taking for the people of Guatemala. This included craft supplies, 1000s of soda tabs, candy, cleats, soccer balls, and so much more. After packing, labeling, inventorying, and labeling 10 bags we were ready to sit down and share a Chick-fil-a meal together.

One of the coolest things of the evening though was that we were being commissioned by the kids from Westover's vacation Bible school. This year the theme was Athens and all about Paul's missionary journeys. Kind of fitting huh? Several of these precious children made salvation bracelets for us to take to the children of Guatemala. They gave these to us and then some of them came on stage to hold our hands and pray with us. It was so humbling and moving. It is amazing how God could use this trip to touch lives here and in Guatemala and it is so awesome to be a part of this.

Please continue to pray for us and our family that we leave here in the States. Please pray for safety, unity, health, and joy in all circumstances. Please pray that the Love of Jesus shines through us and that we are changed for His glory. Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and support. You are a blessing to us. We will try to keep you updated as we serve.
Love,
Team Guatemala
