Secret weapon. Yep - it's the only description to explain our inside strategy. Name? Juliana.
She says that she only speaks Spanish, but our entire team is convinced that she's duoviglingual (23 languages or more for those curious readers ... hope we didn't slaughter that translation : - )). Anyway, you guessed it. Juliana basically shadows all waiters ... (ready) .... for all of our team. Once she sits down she's ordered for (18) people. Someone joked at the McDonalds that the locals were murmurring --- I wonder how much that girl is going to eat.)

Mission trips are meant to be spiritual in nature, right?
You know - where our hope grows, our love expands, and our faith - stretched **would not** be an accurate description.
The basketball / soccer court was genuinely special for the entire group. In this village we were able to enter a very small home and see tortilla's being made by hand. It was a very up close & real look at every day life here.
After this our group engaged in a pickup game of soccer with the kids in the village - and it really felt like we had began to accomplish why we came - to spread God's love. It was a very special time for the entire team.
Why?
Well look at the Toyota!
The only thing that I could think about was - budget cuts have hit our group. Jeff quickly explained that this was a planned spiritual test - and that anyone that didn't board the truck would be banned from drinking bottled water for the remainder of the week.
All boarded - imagine that.

Saturday morning we began a full day of touring. Three stops along the way included: Santiago, San Juan, Santa Cruz - - - all of these surrounded lake Atitlan. Eagles Nest is closest to Solola and we boarded the boat in Panajachel. We'll post some pictures here to do our best **attempt** to show the absolute beauty of GUA.
